“Open the door…” A quiet voice says.
“Ah, yes. I was wondering when you would deign to meet me. I do apologize for the obscene aroma. It appears not everyone has your manners, my dears.” A candle is lit and the room is illuminated, revealing the source of the foul smell.
Blinking toward the light. “I came inside – someone told me to open the door but then I stumbled over something. I think I sprained my ankle … who are you?”
“I couldn’t have planned this better.” I murmer. “I am James Patrick March. Perhaps you have heard of me through what I believe is called the “google”.“ I stride towards the two of you.
“Thanks for lighting a candle, cause I couldn’t see anything,” I say.
“Are you going to kill us?” I asked nervously
“Perhaps.” I sigh. “Although… Mrs Evers recently left me. A replacement would be splendid.” I pipe up. @evanpetcrsass
“What did she do? Maybe I can help you,” I say with a shy smile.
“She took care of anything in my life which required skills in which I am lacking. Admittedly, they were menial tasks. I valued her usefulness… Until I was betrayed.” My features harden.@evanpetcrsass
“Oh,” I say. I am afraid his angry expression. He was dressed like a gentleman but I could tell he was dangerous, too.
“Well, I’ll do anything you want me to, and I won’t betray you,” I say, wanting to do anything to stay alive. I hoped he could not hear the fear in my voice.
